Nearly 20,000 sq. ft. of material was used at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim to prepare the facility for the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Photomation produced graphics for both the North and South windows of the building including their signature “arched” semi-circular window. In addition to the outside graphics, Photomation also made floor graphics for all three main entrances to the Pond and added column graphics to two floors of the arena.

Preparations began in late March, prior to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim clinching a playoff berth. Pre-installation measurements were taken window grid templates were created. The graphic files were dropped into the templates to ensure readability of the graphics.

Once the Ducks playoff berth was clinched the graphics were approved and production began. After the season ended, Photomation had 5 days to install all the graphics. (click here to see a time-lapsed Quicktime movie of the semi-circular window installation process.

In addition to the playoff graphics produced by Photomation, the company also made the signs that ring the dasher boards around the ice rink. Photomation also made the various advertising graphics located throughout the stairwells and concourses at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.

“A project of the scale, scope and time frame requires a lot of coordination. I am proud of the effort the Photomation team put into this exciting opportunity.”, says Matt Hesketh, President, Photomation. “The graphics really help create an atmosphere and puts the fans in the mood to root the Ducks on to victory and, hopefully, a chance at winning the Stanley Cup.”
